Indian Art and Craft has made its special place and is well renowned all over the world. The history of Indian Crafts dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization. The major art and craft of India includes Indian Handicrafts like Paintings, Sculptures, Textile, Jewelry, Stone Craft, Wood Craft and much more. These traditional crafts have withstood the devastation of time and continue to evolve in a influential and pulsing manner. Even a small piece of a craft has an exquisite touch of Indian culture.
Welcome to the world of Shilpshoppe. We are the marketer and exporter of Indian Handicraft Products collected directly from fine craftsmen and artisans living in hinterland across India. These are the people gifted with fine craftsmanship and carrying this tradition since ages. Even some of the products , you would see here , have history as old as 5000 years. These artisans, most of them belonging to various tribes, live in forest and their livelihood solely depends upon the sale proceeds of their handicraft products and forest produce. With dwindling forest cover dependence of these tribal artisans on forest produce is shrinking but increasing on Handicarft Products. However the remuneration they receive as sale proceeds of handicraft products is meager as compared to their tedious efforts. At Shilpshoppe we have professionals who have been associated with tribal people for the last 30 years and are well aware of the plight these poor artisans have to undergo to earn a square meal for them and their children. This situation has encouraged us to work out a solution where in fine-crafted products are presented to craft lovers world over and also these artisans stand to earn a respectable lively hood. This will also help preserve this centuries old craftsmanship for our future generations. Our main aim is to provide international platform to our rural artisans where in they can showcase their products.
We believe that international community , specifically art loving people, will not only enjoy these classic products but will also take part in improving the livelihood conditions of these rural artisans just by patronizing their hand crafted products which are quite suitable for contemporary lifestyles.
